FAQ's for Association
Q: When are Board meetings held?
A: The Board of Directors meets every month. During the off season, Board meetings are usually held on the 2nd Tuesday night of each month. Consult with any Board member for the date and time for Board meetings. Board meeting times and locations will also be posted on the website.
Q: Can anyone attend a Board of Director’s meeting?
A: Any Blue Star member can attend a Board of Director’s meeting with prior written notice to the president.
Q: How can I find out information about a committee?
A: Please see any Board member and they can give you information concerning a committee and how you can become a committee member.
Q: How can I find out information about serving as a Board Member?
A: Nominations for Board positions are taken in October of each year. Board elections are also held in October of each year. Please see any Board member for information on how to become a Board member.
Q: What should I do if I have a concern or suggestion?
A: Each team has an elected Director. If you have a concern or a recommendation, please discuss this with your Team Director.
Q: Why do I have to pay a mandatory Donation fee?
A: The Blue Star operating budget exceeds $65,000 per year. Registration fees generate approximately $30,000. The mandatory donation fee helps to off set additional expenses that the registration fee does not cover. This is a tax deductible donation. In addition, in lieu of making a cash donation, one is afforded the opportunity to sell fundraising products.
Q: How do I obtain a copy of the Blue Star budget?
A: Please see the Treasurer for a copy of the budget.
Q: How do I get a copy of the Blue Star By-Laws and Constitution?
A: The Blue Star By-Laws and Constitution are posted on the Blue Star website.
Q: How do I get a copy of the Metro By-Laws and Constitution?
A: Please see the Metro Rep or Alternate Metro Rep and they will give you a copy.
Q: Why is it mandatory for me to work in the concession stand periodically?
A: The Blue Star operating budget exceeds $65,000 per year. Registration fees generate approximately $30,000. The income generated from the concession stand operations helps to off set expenses that the registration fee does not cover. We need the support of every member to keep the operation stand running in order to fund the football and cheerleading programs.
